The South Australian Boating Facility Advisory Committee (SABFAC) is an advisory committee to the Minister for Transport.

The Minister has vested SABFAC with the responsibility of assessing applications for funding assistance, for recreational boating projects, from the Recreational Boating Facilities Fund.

SABFAC meets bi-annually to assess project applications received, and makes recommendations to the Minister for Transport on the allocation of funds.

Each project is assessed on its merits within a framework of established strategic guidelines. If a project from a council or community group is assessed as suitable for support within these strategic guidelines, SABFAC will recommend to the Minister a funding allocation, usually on a $1 for $1 basis, of the total project cost.

SABFAC operates on the basis that councils must show strong commitment to their projects by providing 50% of the project costs, and accepting ongoing ownership, management, and maintenance of the facility.

Final approval for funding assistance can only be given by the Minister.

SABFAC consists of seven members appointed by the Minister for Transport and made up of nominations from:
