The Recreational Boating Facilities Fund (the Fund) is designed to provide funding assistance to meet the capital cost of establishing and improving recreational boating infrastructure across South Australia. The fund can only be used for recreational boating purposes.
Recreational vessel owners pay the facilities levy contribution when they register their craft and all levies are paid into the Fund.
The facilities levy currently ranges from $24 for personal watercraft, $31 for houseboats, and between $24 and $200 for powered vessels (length based) per annum. The financial information provided below is current from July 2001 to June 2008, ie the previous seven financial years.
REVENUE
The average revenue collected over the past seven years is approximately $1.35 million per annum.
EXPENDITURE
The expenditure (funding assistance) committed towards projects for the same period is approximately $9.2 million, and includes the following funded projects:
Current Works Program
The Current Works Program consists of projects that are either currently under construction or pending.
